Yes, a voluntary member of SSS can apply for an SSS Salary Loan, as long as the member is eligible for a salary loan.

How can a member be eligible?

1.  The SSS member should be active at the time of filing the salary loan.
Active means the member has paid SSS contributions for the previous months and these payments have been posted.

2.  The member should have paid at least 6 monthly contributions within the 12-month period prior to month of loan application.

3.  The member should have accumulated at least 36 monthly contribution payments since start of membership.

4.  The member should have no unpaid or delinquent salary loan.

These are the same rules for Employed, OFW, Self-Employed and Household-help members.
